Refined Handling e-Learning Course

The 3Rs Collaborative partnered with the NC3Rs to create an e-learning course to make it access evidence and training for using refined handling all in one place. This course is intended for anyone who works with research mice, and contains a number of modules and quizzes to teach and train personnel on the importance and use of refined methods to pick up mice.

What is included in this course?

The course includes 5 different sections.

Background: what is refined handling
Evidence: how does refined handling benefit the mice, handler and research
Tunnel Handling: technique, handling in practice
Cup Handling: technique, handling in practice
Next Steps

Each section contains anywhere from 2-4 pages with lessons under each topic. In addition to these lessons there are video demonstrations, knowledge checks and quizzes to access participants understanding.

How long will this course take to complete?

The course will take approximately 45 minutes to complete from start to finish. If you need to pause during completion, leave the browser tab open or the course will be re-started.
